Merrie Monarch 2012

Well, it has certainly been busy the last month or so.....what with a wedding, the Maui Ag Fest and then Merrie Monarch.....not to mention preparing a new ipu field, keeping up with all the farm work and the mail orders. Whew!

But we're back from another successful Merrie Monarch craft show and things should return to a more normal pace. The Merrie Monarch is a festive time.....we get to enjoy meeting new friends and connecting with old ones (most of whom we see just once a year)....and of course, enjoy lots and lots hula!

Friends and fellow instrument makers: Buddy Makaiau (pahu maker), Etua Tahauri (pahu and toere maker), Micky Vea (Ika's son, both instrument makers), Kent and Gayle......

To anyone who placed an order last week, we will be working on it this week to get out as soon as possible. Mahalo for your patience!

And lastly, a big congratulations to the kane of Halau Kekuaokala'au'ala'iliahi of Maui for earning a 4th place....a fantastic feat for their first time competing!!

Maui Ag Fest 2012

The Maui Agricultural Festival will be held this Saturday, April 7th, at the Maui Tropical Plantation from 9am to 4pm. Admission is free! Come see us in the Farmer's Market Tent. We'll be selling the raw ipu (gourds) from our first crop and you could even work on your own ipu there in our booth. Hope to see you there......
