First Winter Swell

Yesterday, the first north swell of this season, was one of the better surf sessions in a loooooong time!

Today was a little smaller, glassier, alot more crowded but still fun. Here is a rather unflattering picture of the surfer.....but what a beautiful Maui day!

Ipu heke Workshop

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of making ipu heke with the ladies of Na Pua Liko Wai Ho'ola from Tokyo, Japan. They will be using their ipu heke today, learning a new hula :)

They first cleaned their ipu with the sand and ocean water of Kihei (right outside their condo). Then we enjoyed working under the shade of this tree and as everyone was finishing up their kaula, we were treated to a beautiful sunset.
We would like to thank Junko, Ai and the haumana for all their hard work and the 'ono dinner.

It was a great day and all the ipu heke turned out beautiful!

On Vacation
