Halau Hula Napuaokalei'ilima

Mahalo to kumu hula Kehau Chrisman of Halau Hula Napuaokalei'ilima of Arizona for sending in this picture. The halau performed at the annual Arizona Aloha Festival this past March.

"Anyway, just wanted you to see the fruits of your labor! Mahalo nui loa! Aloha, Kehau"

Kehau's husband, Ka'imiloa, is well known for his research in the lost art of ipu pawehe. Many, many years ago, I attended a presentation he did here on Maui. I learned a great deal about ipu that night and am very grateful that he so generously shares his knowledge. Mahalo!
